81 C20 - Howdy from Texas

We bought this truck last week for 1300.00. It is a 1981 C20 2WD 350/350 Camper Special w/ 115,200K on the odometer (I guess it could have more but no reason to doubt the guy we bought it from).

What I know about the truck is that it originally had a 454, it currently has a GM Goodwrench 350, there was a fire in the engine compartment, and there is a ton of things to do to the truck.

What has been done so far:
New fuel filter
New seal for trans output shaft (correct terminology?)
Distributor cap
Rotor
Plugs
Edelbrock carb thoroughly cleaned and adjused
Oil Change
About 8 miles of various wiring gutted from engine bay and from under dash. Wires melted together and scorch marks are why I say it has had a fire.

Our plans...fix it up. We plan for it to take about 5 years to do everything we want to do.

I'll start a build thread so our progress can be tracked.

Thanks,
GM

Thanks.

It will be a family project truck with my wife and our two sons (elementary age) working on it over the next few years, we are guesstimating 5 years to have it "perfect" to us.

The Pyrenees wasted no time hopping into the bed and declaring it his property .

Thanks for the replies. The dog is a 150+ lb Great Pyrenees that is the security system for the truck .
