Re: Help Identifying My Chassis

Thank You,

Next question, anyone know the the part number or where to order the correct sway bar kit for this truck?, I see the 2 holes in the lower arm, new ones have them too, most photos online aftermarket ones have the bushings and one hole used.

Have that bar on my 99 Silverado.

This is what I think I need..

Re: Help Identifying My Chassis

I like to get 73-87 factory sway bars at the Upull it yards, very cheap.

Re: Help Identifying My Chassis

Installed sway bar today, dumb question, didn't even try, but, can this bar only be installed in one direction?

In other words, if flipped around, could it still work?

Does this look correct?, it's in and clear of everything, but struggled to get bolts in on passenger side control arm and bar is only half way to 3/4 way through bushing, other side sticks out 1/4 to 1/2", tried to adjust it, won't give.

Haven't put wheels on yet and lowered full weight on it to see how it lines up, waiting for new rims and tires.

Thanks.

Re: Help Identifying My Chassis

I noticed you put on drop lower A arms, did you align the cross shaft dimple on both sides before you tightened the u-bolts?

yes...

Can't sleep when something bothers me..

So went out and flipped it, same fit both ways, feel better now, ha.
Once wheels go on and truck lowered, should help.

Re: Help Identifying My Chassis

Here it is flipped the other way, slight difference.

But still fits the same way.

Re: Help Identifying My Chassis

If it fits the same way flipped over and too short on the same side as before that means its not the sway bar thats off, its something else like the mounts, or lower control arms, or bent frame. Might need to make some comparitive measurements from side to side.

My exact thoughts, will wait for tires, coming Friday, lower truck and see how everything lines up then.

Thanks, Happy Holidays.

Re: Help Identifying My Chassis

Thanks for all the help, suspension finished, happy with new stance, rims and tires, front end new 3" drop control arms, new springs and sway bar.

Rear end leafs reshaped to drop 3", new shocks all around as well.
