I swapped a 1979 K10 D44 in to my K10. I was able to pull the gears from the 67 and put them in the 79. I really liked this axle because it gets rid of the oil bathed U-joint, and it has disc breaks. you will need the part that clamps down on the leaf springs from the top as i believe the u bolts are different sizes.
![]() also the the trucks are cheap and lots of parts work on both. My truck has/had several parts (engine, axle, front brakes, rear brake springs, rubber brake lines, proportioning valve, heater blower, fuel pickup(I have a relocated tank).
