1971 C10 Emissions question

Hello all, I just picked up a 1971 Chevy C10 with an inline six and have a emissions question. I live In Arizona so I am required to run the truck through their money making emissions checking system. My question is does a anyone know what equipment this truck should have on it. It has a PCV, it has a vapor canister, no catalytic convertor as they weren't required until 1975, other than those things, does anyone know what else may be required. I hate going there and paying and waiting just to have them tell me something is missing and having to go back and do it all over. We are not as strict as California as far as labels etc., I just can't find anything online that breks down what is needed. Thanks in advance, Billy

Re: 1971 C10 Emissions question

Start with the factory manuals, section 6T.
The 71 C/10 had a pretty complete set of emission controls from the factory IIRC.
PCV
CCS (thermal intake system)
Evap
TCS (trans controlled spark)
Idle stop ???

Pretty sure AIR (air pump) didn't come in until '72 but I would have to check.

Re: 1971 C10 Emissions question

Thanks, I don't have the factory manual but everything you listed is on my truck. Not sure about the trans controlled spark but I believe it is all stock and I'm going to assume if the previous owners didn't mess with anything else, they didn't touch that either. Here in AZ they just put a sensor in my tailpipe and check actual emissions so its not like they go down a list to see if anything is missing. Ill just have to take it in and see if it passes, if not, it can probably be adjusted, if it passes, good. Thanks for your help. Billy

Re: 1971 C10 Emissions question

I've run my truck through AZ emissions tests 5 years now. I think the only things they know to look for are a hooked-up PCV valve and the charcoal canister. My truck has none of the other items SS Tim mentioned and it has passed with no issues.
