Re: 1948 Chevy project
Looks pretty good. I just finished installing my fatman IFS. Its a project but aren't the results worth it?
![]() I also got a free explorer rear. How are you planning to install yours? I picked up the TCI rear leaf kit and Have to modify it slightly since the explorer rear has larger axle tubes. |

Re: 1948 Chevy project
Was not sure on what to do yet. I was also looking at a TCI kit. Keep me posted on how it goes. I still have time.

Re: 1948 Chevy project
Will do. I'm hoping for next weekend but I don't know if I can get it done then. My rear end is behind the building under 3 feet of snow with some big snow banks in the way. It will happen this spring for sure. To make the kit work I already ordered 3.25 inch u-bolts to replace the 3 inch ones the kit came with, larger axle perches for on the tubes, and I still have to modify the plate that holds the leafs to the perches. I'll let you know how it goes.

Re: 1948 Chevy project
Well this might be the slowest build ever, but since it is my first time I just keep chipping away at it. Here is the front end almost completely installed. Have to do springs, brakes, and few minor things. Then on to the rear next.
