AC vent problems.

Some of my AC vents flop around and mostly point at the floor. Will simply buying new ones fix this or is there somthing else I need to fix too?

Re: AC vent problems.

you can put a oring on the shafts that stick out of the vent. this takes up slack and keeps them pointed right.

Re: AC vent problems.

You can put some shims in them to tighten them up. It's very easy to do. Heck I've made them from cardboard and plastic. Plastic ones seem to last longer and hold up. I used old plastic washers and just cut them in to a wedge shape where I could get them on the left and right. Helps stiffen the vents up and if done right you never see them on the outside.

I did this while the dash pad was out so I had access to the backside. I should have led off with that.

Re: AC vent problems.

I have also heard sticking on the softer side of a piece of velcro. Never tried it but have heard about it.
