3.07 posi rear end with:

How would this rear end match up with a th350 and 350 motor in a 72 4x4 blazer?

Other option is with a 69 292 power glide set up?

It would be nice to have that extra tire spinning on some of the hunting trips I go on. Thanks.

What gear do you have in the front axle? And what diameter tires?

It's my experience, many of the 350/350 setups I have come across in Blazers had 3.07/3.08 standard.
I have seen a few 3.73 combo's too, but as mentioned you need to match the front & rear.

Re: 3.07 posi rear end with:

Base model diff ratio in a 350 powered 4x4 '71-'72 would have been 3.07 gears while the optional gear was 3.73. I own (2) '72 Jimmys about 1200 serial #'s apart. Mine I learned to drive in is a 4 speed and came with 3.07. The other one that will eventually be my 10 year olds "project" is 3.73 and an auto.

What size tire do you have is a great question. IMO, 3.07 just isn't enough gear for 33" tires. 3.73 is ideal for that and 4.10 for 35's.

Agree on the size of the tires,

I have a 75 Blazer with a 4 spd/205 so, (same 1:1 final ratio) and 3.07 gears, running 33's. Sucks around town and on even seemingly minor hills, but great running down the freeway..

My blazer currently has 3.73 front and back. Tires will be stock 235 75 15.

Like I say other option if not doable for blazer is on my 69 with a 292 with power glide and stock tires.

Re: 3.07 posi rear end with:

3.07 is not too bad as long as your tires are no bigger than 31" with stock trans
just put the t/c in low range when you have to get with it
