Exclamation Has anybody ever...(Please look)

Have any of you guys ever added OEM power locks to a non-power lock truck? I have a 91 crew cab and I am putting the goors off of a 90 suburban on it. The sub had power windows and locks but I am putting manual window but I want to keep the locks. I have removed the factory power window and lock harness (all one harness). Does the powwer for the locks run through the windows? I know the locks are hot all the time. At the fuse block there were two main power wires. Pink, main power, for the windows, and orange with black stripe, main power for locks. Can I just run the harness and plug in the orange wire and be good to go? Surely some one has done this. Thanks in advance.

Thumbs up

I've done this on my S10 and the harness sounds like the same set up.

Here's what i'd do remove any and all ele. tape form the entire harness then seperate the pwr. lock wires from the pwr. window wires form what i remember there are no shared pwr. or grn. wires they are two different systems after that it's juat a simple install.

Since your truck was a non pwr. truck you will have to drill the passage holes into the cab this will be alot easier to do when you have your door's off.

If you look close you will see a small indent in the metal on the cab drill your passage hole there.

Home depot or lowe's sell's whole saw's for metal just measure the diameter of your rubber grommet and get as close to that size as possible.

Why don't you want to keep the pwr. window's??

There should be a gromet present to run these wires thru. The door lock unit should also be easy to wire up. Make sure you use a relay when you do so you dont burn your truck or wiring up.
