Traction Control 5.3 2003

Is there a option for turning the traction control on or off in the tune process.
or is there even a traction control option?

At what point, RPM or speed, or throttle position can you set the down shift from 2nd to first, and from 3rd to second, or is this even possible?

I'm not sure if you have enough sensors to run the traction control. You can control the upshifts and downshifts. You can talk to your tuner about this, or even better, buy HPTuners or equivalent and then you can do it yourself.

Like Hart said, you won't have real Trac. You'll have Tq management, but in a custom build it ends up hindering more than helping, and afaik it can't be turned off with just a button...it needs to be tuned out, as it pulls timing.

I think for real Trac you need ABS and a yaw sensor. In the vette's it can actually pulse the brake and reduce dbw throttle input. I'm not sure if there are wheel speed sensors, but it has some way of comparing wheel rotation to detect slip,

Hi br3w city, i believe late models control wheel slip by comparing the driving axle to the non-driving wheels. I've noticed my late model front wheel drive went into a skid on a sweeping turn on black ice, the rear end started to slide out, it pulsed the brakes and reduced engine performance (drive by wire) and straightened me out before i could react. I believe the yaw sensor, and the slowing down of the rear tires engaged the traction control system.

O K, yes torque management, reduce timing to discourage wheel spin on instant acceleration something like that, not trac control
