Choke trouble
I have a Holley carb that I recently installed, and I got a new 4" K&N filter for Christmas to nest on top of it.
Since installing it my electric choke does not work?? Besides checking for the 12 volts from the ignition is there any checks I can do to figure out what is wrong with it?? It worked until I installed the filter, but it must just be a coincidence??

Check first to make sure the throttle blades aren't being interfered with by the new filter housing.If the air filter is the only change that is the most likely problem.
The other thing is to check and be sure no wires or vacuum lines were unplugged when you installed it.

The filter isnt in the way. I removed it and I cant move the blade physically at all. It seems to be hitting on the arm that kicks the idle up at cold start. Could it just be an adjustment to the choke?? Can I just rotate the choke to get it to work??

well pushing the gas pedal set's the choke...so pull the throttle lever back and try to move the choke linkage....if it move's it's not stuck.....need to adjust this while the choke spring is cold....
you do have 12volts to the choke coil???? if so try turning the choke housing to increase the choke adjustment clockwise.... this will make the choke stay on longer and make it have to heat-up every time you turn the engine off..... turn it back for less of this effect.... |

Thanks rage'nrat638 Thats what I needed. I did move the throttle linkage and it still does not move. I adjusted the choke but now the choke keeps the throttle at about 1000 RPM.
So if I go CCW with the choke housing then it will reduce this effect??
