Very nice! The gray "283" with script valve covers looks so much better than an SBC covered in Taiwanese chrome crap.

Thanks. I wanted to keep it vintage-looking where possible even if it means some compromises in performance.

The base for the ram air assembly sits on top of the motor waiting for the snorkel assembly and hoses. One of the inflow tubes mounted in place can be seen at the bottom of the picture just left of center.
