350 Dipstick Location
I am changing out my oil pan and dipstick because they were damaged by a PO. The problem I am having is that the dipstick on my oil pan goes into the oil pan itself. The new oil pan I have and all the others I have seen do not have a hole in the side. Is there a stock on the block where the new dipstick would go?

BBC engines have the dipstick mounted in the oil pan but I have not seen a SBC with the dip stick going into the side of the oil pan. What year is your engine?

Re: 350 Dipstick Location
It's a 71. I would not be surprised if the po rigged it somehow.
