I need help decoding a VIN

Hi all, I'm working on a truck for a friend and he tells me it's a 68 Chev but it's got a GMC front end, I've tried to decode the VIN but I just can't figure out what year this thing is, something tells me it's not a 68 , maybe someone here can tell me, the VIN is: CE1481 115737 I'm not sure why there is a space but it's like that in the door post and the glove box
Thank you

Yes it's a 68.
Here's some VIN decoding info.

The space is a just a format item that separates the prefix portion of the VIN from the sequential portion. It doesn't really mean anything or hurt anything.

Kieth is right the space is meaningless and Oshawa did everything a little different. Please consider posting the SPID to the link in my signature.

Sicklajoie and anyone else that might be interested here is the link to Bruceman1968's decoders and the code to add it to your signature (if you want) to get the word out even more.
