rear end ratio's
What gear sets will fit the carrier of a dana rearend that came with 3.73s. It came in a 72 GMC 3/4 ton

is it a dana or a hd72? does it have a drop out 3rd member? if it drops out the only ratio you can get up to is a 4:10. dont know if that helps you.

It is aftermarket or swapped in from something else, 3.73 was not offered in 3/4 ton trucks.
It may be out of a later dodge or an aftermarket unit. |

is your truck an original Big Block euipped truck?
if so, they had 3.54 gears in the dana 60 factory. otherwise, they should have 4.11 gears in a 3/4 ton. i am not sure if the 4.56 came in the dana 60 rearend, perhaps as an option. I am not sure about the gearsets you could get, I am guessing you have a 3-series carrier that will hold all 3:_ _ gears. maybe someone else can help.

the truck is an original 250, three on the tree. as far as i know the 3.73 is original
