Door ID Plate For My 1953 Chevy Truck

I found out tweo important things about my ID (VIN) Plate. I had it when the truck came but somewhere in the process of taking the cab to the body shop, it apaprently came off and was lost. I called my local DMV Theft Division. All I have to do is drive the truck to them and show them the title and insurance card (they already took a photo of the ID Plate on the door when I had to take it to them because it was an out of state vehicle -the truck came from CA) to be inspected at which time they took a photo of the ID Plate and engine ID no. They will issue me a new ID Tag.

I also found a guy who took the reproduction ID Plate that I purchased from Chev's Of The 40's (Classic Parts has them also) and machine stamped the ID No. on it and it looks just like the original. My intention is to have the DMV plate along with the reproduction plate on the driver side door.
