Will my guage handle it?
I started my truck up for the first time with the original guagues in it. My oil pressure guaged was pegged as far as it could go. I've got a built 400 sb. with a high volume and pressure oil pump in it. My concern is that my factory guage won't be able to handle the pressure since it was already close to being pegged just lettin the motor idle. A burst oil guage would definately hurt my feelins and my new interior. Anybody else had a problem?

My toyota run's 65 hot and the guage is pegged when cold (10 w 30) auto guage BTW

I would be concerned about the gauge since it is probably a 60 psi gauge.
Try hooking up a 100 psi gauge to see what the actual pressure is. I believe that 80 psi gauges are available and that might do it for you. Jim |

that pump is probably putting out 80 psi most do and they have a pressure release at 80 but if it was me i would change the gauges to autometers with a 100psi oil guage

I would change to an aftermarket gauge also.

haha i have the same problem. i have a built 350 and at idle it's pegged and as it comes up off idle it goes off the chart. probly ought to fix that

same here.....
but were driving chevy's not fords...... most parts are good for double the working pressure...... mine come's off the the high side once it's warmed up IT'S ONLY MONEY...... |
