I am in the process of swapping my th350 in my '71 for a
700r transmission. I looked in the LMC catalog and did not
see any such cable for the 700, just only the 350 and 400.
Anybody out there have any ideas of where to find one?

Check out the EZ TV cable from the 7004r.com. I have it on mine. I actually have one from before I swapped engines(I have the LS1 TV cable now). It's for a holley carb. It has the base, linkage, and the cable. I'll give you a good deal on it. It worked perfect. You can set up how hard or soft you want the tranny to shift. That also makes it shift later or earlier. Let me know.

I have a sbc350 w/ holley 670 avenger series 4brl carb, will it work on this set up for the 700r? If so how much?

I'm not real sure. I know it works on a 4150 and 4160 series. I bet it's the same. I guess I'll have to call bowtie overdrives.

Just be carefull on that adjusting shift points and shift firmness...if you don't have instant line pressure increase as soon as you open the primaries, the tranny will fall apart in short order.

Your right about the line pressure. But the EZ linkage makes it so you always have line pressure. It just adjusts how quickly the TV cable is pulled. At wide-open-throttle it pulls the cable the same amount and hence applies the same amount of pressure the the transmission clutches.

Cool. I have never heard of the EZ linkage you are talking about, I wanted to make sure line pressure was mentioned since it is the main thing that will kill an overdrive tranny.

I also have the Bowtie Overdrives EX linkage and it works great. Well worth the money in my opinion.

I have the EZ 700r4 Botie overdrive set-up and it works killer. You can set up your shifts soft or frim depending on what you want. It a bit pricey but well worth it. Make sure that you get the line presure kit with it as well. That helps you get the TV presure right. I spent around 130.00 for the hole setup. Also make sure you use a 4th gear lock up kit. It real simple to hook up to.

What do all these parts do? I just bought a 700r4 that i'm gonna have rebuilt with a heavy duty rebuild kit, shift kit of some sort, and a new torque converter...all for 600 bucks. bought the tranny for 50. I'm wondering which parts i will need to go from my t350 to the 700. But more than anything just interested in what each does.
