Front inner fender clearance

Been searching for examples of "At what point do you need raised inner front fenders for static low?".

I know tire size is a huge factor, I have a 71 C10, will have 235/70/15 tires and CPP 2.5 spindles and trying to figure out how much lower I can go before inner fender clearance becomes a problem (will make changes to deal with LCA to ground clearance but trying to find out about the fender well issue right now)? Thanks

I think anymore than 5 inches in the front and you run into problems.

Re: Front inner fender clearance

Those tires aren't that big. Just a guess but I'd say your crossmember will hit the ground before your tires hit the inner fenders. I am currently running 255/40/20's with a 5+ static drop with no problems. Also just fit cupped LCA's and I'm not certain yet I will have to do anything with the inner fenders when the crossmember is laid.

305-40-22's on 10" wide wheels. They are 32"s tall. Roughly 3's dropped(cut) coils. no problem. 6" backspacing. Have bottomed out without tires hitting.

If you can take care of the crossmember I'd think you can deal with the inner fenders when you get there. With 235's on my stock steelies, I don't think the outer fender or hood hinge will be in the way - just the inner. I know you're looking for real experience but that's my 2 cents.

Re: Front inner fender clearance

Lowered my 72 about 4.5" to 5" it the front. Truck had 8" rallys with 235/70/15 tires, and they rubbed whenever I hit a bump. Swapped those out for a pair of 7" rallys with slightly smaller tires [don't remember size right now] and haven't had any clearance issues since. Joseph
