So I have made a deal with a forum member for his brush guard. Being heavy steel how should it be shipped?

Tossed into a box and UPS / FedEx called?

Strapped down inside a wooden crate and shipped on a truck to a local business?

Cost of shipping really isn't a factor since I'm sure repairing a bent up guard is more expensive than paying the extra shipping up front. Just, is it really necessary?

What say you?

Drive out, bolt it to your truck and drive home. Enjoy the shipping money seeing the sights! :-)

I've shipped and received all kinds of sheetmetal with Greyhound and that's the way to go. They can't hurt a grille guard. They aren't hustling and parts among thousands of others as fast as they can like the parcel deliveries do. It will be transferred from bus to bus by those who hand luggage. Prices are better than common carrier. And I never had an issue in many decades.

I'm thinking a big cardboard box would do....what do ya'll think?

You could shop bare or just wrap tight with cardboard. A box will make it bigger and you'll need to pack it in so it can't move and bet it's way out of the box. It's not like you need cushioning.
