Shock relocation kit?

If I lower the rear of my 64, 4 inches do I need to put a shock relocation kit on it? And an adjustable tracking arm?

I say 5" or 6" drop needs them.
Never done a 4" drop.
Look at your shock angles when you are done and check if the rearend is still centered in the frame.
That will tell you the real answer.

I would do the relocating brackets if the 4" drop is w/just springs. Blocks & springs I wouldn't bother.

Why doesn't blocks, and springs need relocation brackets if it is 4 inches lower?

How about if you replaced the stock shocks with lowering shocks do you still need the reloctation kit?

Shorter shocks = possible less travel regardless of actual available travel. Relocating the mounts allows better angles & more travel. Aftermarket shorter shocks can (and will) work. But, OE replacement shocks would still be easier should there ever be a need to replace or upgrade. You always want the most travel possible w/any shock or spring for the best possible ride.

Drop blocks in a truck-arm application don't impact shock travel since they only alter the position of the rear end housing.
