Swapping hubs

Is it possible to use 63-66 front hubs and drums on a 60 stock spindle. I heard this would be a way to use the cheaper bearings. Has anybody tried this and if so does it work?

i heard this also in a previous post on this forum, not only are the tapered bearings less expensive they are also better.....kieth
