Re: low back bucket swap??

heck ive got a seat of low back and console sitting in my garage since the po put a bench seat in. I want the 60-40 split with arm rest, but ill more than likely break down and put them back in since they came in my truck stock.

I love the low back seats they really help give it a little bit of a classic vibe.

Re: low back bucket swap??

I ordered low-back custom vinyl buckets in my '92 rather than the hi-backs. I could have hd a 40/60 cloth for n/c. My thinking was vinyl would be better for a work truck. But,that material would start to crack at 18-20k in the driver side bottom. I had it fixed 3x within the 60k mile limit, then lived with it (covered) while pondering what to do. My upholstery guy said find new take outs, but I never saw any. He got me the correct cloth material to custom make covers but said keep looking. He's too good a friend to want to take my money and I didn't mind paying!). Finally,I found a cherry set of cloth hi-backs from a Tahoe with correct upholstery and slapped those in. Let me tell you,I love low-backs in a pickup and that's why I ordered them on a truck I got built just the way I wanted. The vibe was build a modern truck as close to the classics I love. But,those hi-backs are so much more comfortable it isn't funny. They are fully bolstered and you just slip right into the seat like a pea pod. Mine's a work truck, though, and that makes the most comfortable seat all the more a blessing after a day of hard work. And,you can't even see my back window anyway
The low-backs remind me of the GM car buckets of the '60s. Don't get me wrong,I like them

Re: low back bucket swap??

I had a set of those in my old 94 for a while and liked them.
The size was great for a regular cab and no head rest was a huge BONUS!

I sold them and replaced them with 95&up buckets since the newer buckets are easier to recover.

Those are hard to find though... nice score!
