Newport Wiper motor questions
I am thinking about installing a Newport wiper motor on my second series 55 1) Has anyone used this item ? (2) If you used it what's your opinion of the product ? (3) Has anyone also installed a windshield washer system when they converted their truck to electric wipers? (4) If you used the Newport wiper motor did you use their washer switch ? . Any feedback would be appreciated.

Re: Newport Wiper motor questions
I put the Newport motor on my 50 Merc about 15 years ago and it is still working fine. I only have the 2-speed switch and do not have the washer system.

Re: Newport Wiper motor questions
I installed the two speed Newport electric wipers on my '58 as the factory vacuum wiper motor refused to work. It was a piece of cake to install. I was very pleased with this upgrade. A previous owner had installed a washer system from a S10 and I have a separate button on the dash for that.

Re: Newport Wiper motor questions
I installed the two speed unit in my 50 about 10 years ago, and it works great no problems. No washer system...Jim

Re: Newport Wiper motor questions
I made up a washer using a Dodge Caravan back bottle and pump and a 55-59 electric wiper switch to activate. Push button or deadman toggle would work but I had a existing hole in the dash to file and wanted it to match.
