Rear end help in my 62

Im looking to put a 12 bolt in my 62 but not sure if later year rear ends will bolt right in ? I assume someone out there has converted over. Any help would be great thanks.

If it is a trailing arm truck it will go right in. You will need the track bar from the donor or just go to an adjustable one.

60-62 have a little bit of a difference on the angle of the trailing arms I do believe. I think that Capt Fab would be the best to assist here.

I had to weld perches outside the ones from '71. I used the longer stock bar and mount. Now it is all PorterBuilt.

The perches on 60-62 are wider than the 63 & up. You can get an install kit from speedway, comes with perches, panhard mount and bar, to put whatever rear you would like in your truck. If you happen to go with a 73-87 they are 1.5" wider, than the original in your truck.

The trailing arms are farther apart on the '60-'62's than on the '63-'72's. The '60-'64's have the long panhard bar and the '65-'72's have the short panhard bar.
