Re: Solid build in texas!

Thanks fellas! Yeah it's a pretty straight truck. No real bad rust since it was kept in a barn or garage it's whole life keeping it away from the elements. The last time it ran was in 1991 and has the registration sticker to prove it! Lol.

Hey mater, if you know where I can pick up a crank case ventilation filter it would sure help. Most everybody I have talked to or asked have either laughed at me it said good luck!

Re: Solid build in texas!

Hi and welcome, Nice truck, I love the GMCs.

Maybe you could get a road draft vent from an older 216 or 235 and adapt it to your motor>?

Have a good week.

Re: Solid build in texas!

Gary that is a great looking GMC! You can't beat that big block 305 v6 for "wow" factor in discussions and fantastic overall torque. It will idle up the side of the grand canyon towing two two-story houses and your granny in a rocking chair without breaking a sweat.

The only way you can kill it is by draining the oil, emptying the water, and driving it into the ocean. But that's just a theory.

Good luck!

Re: Solid build in texas!

Yeah I have been getting some seriously weird looks from people when I say it has a 305 V6...

I am hoping to get it out on the highway this weekend so it can have some run time for the first time in 20+ years!!

Re: Solid build in texas!

Cool truck! I almost have my GMC back on the road after sitting 20 years on a fence row. One good thing about these Texas trucks is that they dont rust very bad like northern trucks.

Couple more pictures. The previous owner put a new wood bed kit in it right before he let it sit.
