Frontend parts on Amazon

I wanted to share this with you guys for anyone planning to rebuild your frontend.

I went to O'reillys website and looked up all the parts needed to rebuild the frontend. Then I took the part #'s and searched on Amazon and found all of them. These are all Moog parts.

These are for a 64'

Idler Arm k14
Pitman Arm K6086
Outer tie rod ends ES323L
Inner Tie rod ends ES678
Upper Ball joints k6024
Lower Ball joints k6023
Upper Control Arm Shaft Kit k6098
Lower Control Arm k6147

Cost for all these parts at O'reilly's $734.86

Cost on Amazon for exact same parts $380.97

That's a difference of $353.89.

Only reason I even checked this out was a guy at work told me he had just ordered some frontend parts from Amazon for his Dodge truck. I thought what the heck I'll check and see and low and behold they had all of them.

Hope this helps someone out and I hope its ok to post this. Nothing against O'reillys I use them all the time. Just in this instance didn't make sense to.

One other cool thing I have Amazon prime so I will have all these parts delievered this Saturday except for one. I even ordered a new Torin ram jack for my engine lift as the HF broke after 2 uses. I saved $35 on it as well.

Re: Frontend parts on Amazon

I just ordered all the front end parts from Amazon myself. All Moog. I checked Oreily's and compared them to Rock Auto. Same parts but about 50% less total. I was actually checking out at Rock Auto and when they threw on there the $49.00 in shipping I thought "I wonder what Amazon has." Amazon's site is difficult to find parts on if you don't have the part number, but if you do, it works great. I'm prime already so figured it was worth the effort anyways. Parts cost $3.00 less in total than Rock Auto when you factored shipping, and I got them in 2 days instead of a week+.

Re: Frontend parts on Amazon

The biggest difference was the Idler Arm $28.62 vs $97.99 and the pitman arm $65.81 vs 118.99.

Re: Frontend parts on Amazon

When I installed the front anti-sway bar on mine, I found the Moog bushings on Amazon cheaper (even after shipping) than anywhere locally...

Re: Frontend parts on Amazon

I like Amazon, I also visit http://frugalmechanic.com/. Not only do they list who carries the parts along with price, they also have a coupon section. The Advance Auto online coupons are sometimes crazy great, like $50 off $100 purchase or 30% off any purchase.

Re: Frontend parts on Amazon

I have been buying all my parts online for several years. I simply got fed up with going to the auto parts store. I always brought my old part and checkbook. If they had it in stock I was gonna buy it. However I go inside then wait forever to get waited on. Finally Its my turn then the phone rings and they leave me waiting to talk to somebody on the phone who might buy something. How is that not rude behavior? The last time I had that happen. I got even. I had them bring several items up to the counter ring it up a few hundred dollars worth and then told them I didn't have any money could I pay them later? Wasted a couple hours of the stores time. Man was I tickled. Posted what I did on the local TOPIX!! I got a phone call from the store manager and gave him a earful. Burned that bridge Any way now I shop around. I check out all the places via internet. A water pump for my wifes jeep cherokee was over $75.00 plus tax at the name brand places . Bought the same pump from parts geek for $39 total. shoot I can wait a week if I save money.
