Tilt steering column
Any one know if any of the new tilt columns are shorter the the old ones ? I have an non tilt right now but would like to get further away from the steering wheel . So I wanted to know if I were to get a title if they are any shorter then the original ones .

Re: Tilt steering column
I believe the truck tilts are the same length as the standard column. Van tilts are slightly longer than both. I would assume any aftermarket columns would be modeled after the original truck columns. You might be able to get a universal tilt that might be shorter though.
You can shorten the steering shaft between the column and the steering box in order to move the column farther forward |

Re: Tilt steering column
I used a van column, just collapse the lower shaft and move the column down closer to the cluster works fine.
