Talking Speedway motors museum - WOW!!!

this isn't truck related, but i had to share. I finally got to see the speedway motors museum. My buddy has a connection to "speedy" bill smith, so i was able to get a private tour of the place (its not open to the public) All i have to say is wow! that place is awesome! I saw some of the coolest things in there.
They had a V16 small block chevy, two blocks were put together- very sweet. had a ton of old racing engines, engine names most people have never even heard of, very interesting designs though. Had lots of old hot rods. one of these cars even had a $40,000 hood ornament! There were many famous race cars in there. they also had old peddle cars. My favorite was the $1 million dollar 32 roadster. It had a turbine engine in it that made 375hp, but it only weighed 1000 lbs. Talk about good power to weight ratio! And it had all sorts of electronic gadgets. It was AWESOME! It is supposed to maybe open this summer. But until then, if you are in the area and want to check it out, let me know. I got the girls number who gave me the tour. So i could get you in. Her dad owns the car that set the land speed record, and better yet, shes my age!

I would love to get into that place. I also heard that they were going to open it up to the public but that was a while ago and I haven't heard of anything since. By the way, your the first Lincoln person I've seen on this board so its nice to see that I am not alone. Do you drive any of those trucks that I mite reconize from around town.

sorry, pic didn't work

woodyjeff - only other lincoln members i know of are nejeff and truckboy, but don't know them personally. I drive a red 67 short wide, drive it only on weekends and nice days. I used to drive a blue 71 long box with green and yellow flames. Also used to drive a 71 shortbox that is primer gray. Oh, and have you seen that red 72 stepside that sits at the highway diner? that thing is sweet!

Which Highway Dinner? I don't think I've seen it but I might have to go look at it. I drive the hugger orange 1970 with the white top, you can tell mine from the 71-72 front bumper. It kind of looks like s**t right now though, since I use it as a daily driver and its a little hard to keep clean during this time of year.
