20" Chrome Boss 338 wheels and tires, brand new

I have a set of Boss 338 20x8.5, 5x5 5.24" Backspacing. All four wheels are the same size, with 275/45/20 tires. The tires are not a well known brand but look pretty good IMO. The sidewalls are pretty clean and of course brand new. Mounted, Balanced and never run. Link to the tires so you can check them out. http://www.veneziatires.com/crusadesuv.html

Boss wheels are $324.97 at Summit racing. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ae...2850/overview/

This setup will not work for my truck. I bought them from a friend who lost his job, needed money quickly. He said he paid $1600 for the set.

This setup would be perfect on a 71-72 step side with about a 3 / 5 drop. It would be a direct bolt on and go. Anything lower than 3 / 5 , and the fronts will be too tall.

$1200 or best reasonable offer. You're basically getting the tires free. I'd rather not ship them, but I will work with a local buyer. I will drive up to 100 miles in any direction from Chattanooga to meet you for $100. Paypal accepted.

If you're local, come up to the house and we'll try them on your truck. Here's what they look like on mine but I'm about 4.5" drop in the front. I just put them on my truck because they looked better and held air better than the ones I had on it. Somebody needs these.

Questions do not hold your place in line. Negotiating price does not hold your place in line. The first 'I'll take it' posted in the for sale thread will get them.

Re: 20" Chrome Boss 338 wheels and tires, brand new

Harold let's give them a day or two and see what happens then I might split them up.. I'd made you a deal on them though.

I am 85% sure they are V3, they fit my truck with no mods. It is 73-87 up front with HD rotors. I didn't have any problem with the caps.

A step side with the wider rear housing and a mild drop man these would be the ticket.

Honestly man, I don't think you'd be happy with the narrow / fleet combo. You need a 20x10 on the rear. You could space these out.. but it would take a big spacer. Come up and well try them and just see what you think. (?).. your call.

Re: 20" Chrome Boss 338 wheels and tires, brand new

I have a 67 that im looking for wheels for.. Do you think I would need spacers on the back as well? I cant remember if the 67 is the wider or shorter rearend.. Also I have a 5/7 drop, do you think I could fit the fronts with a lower profile tire?

Thanks, Shawn

Re: 20" Chrome Boss 338 wheels and tires, brand new

67 will likely have the more narrow rear end. Assuming its the fleetside in your Avatar (?) I would suggest a 20x10 with 5.5" BS on your truck with a 5/7 drop. 295/40/20 on the back. with 5" drop up front the wheels I have would work, but you'd need a 255/40/20 tire.

I'll sell you the wheels but IMO, they're not the setup you'd be looking for. 67 stepside, then maybe but your truck is pretty low too. I'm not trying to talk you out of buying them, I'd just want you to be happy with them.

Re: 20" Chrome Boss 338 wheels and tires, brand new

The Avatar is my truck without its current lowered stance.. Yea I was wanting 10" in the rear but for a deal I could probabaly live with 8.5".. I was also considering the 22x9.5's in the rear.. You have any thoughts on that? Regardless I'll think about..

Thanks, Shawn

Re: 20" Chrome Boss 338 wheels and tires, brand new

I will make someone a deal on them, no doubt. You could always run a spacer. If you were to do a 71-72 5 lug swap that would help a bunch.

Do you know for sure you have the narrow housing? I can tell you how to tell if not..

Re: 20" Chrome Boss 338 wheels and tires, brand new

Measure from the inside edge of one brake backing plate to the other side. Have a buddy hold one end and from the same place one side vs. the other it should be 55.5" for the early housing. The late housing will be 57".

In comparison, most guys will run a 20x10 on the late housing with 5.5" BS. These are 20x8.5 with 5.25" BS. The wheel would be roughly 1.25" more narrow 'looking' than the 10" setup. But, being that low you kinda need a little room too.

Most of the bagged trucks will run a 20x10 with 6" BS (more under the truck) to keep it from hitting the inner wheel wells in the bed.

If you got this set, you could run the rear tires but I would go to a 255/40 up front. Just my opinion.

If it helps, I would consider trades on 69-72 bucket seat cores as long as they're not rusty, a nice High Hump, Fleetside Sport Bumper, just let me know.

Chad how would these look on a 71 long bed fleet side with no drop? I'm currently running 275x60x15 with rally wheels.

Re: 20" Chrome Boss 338 wheels and tires, brand new

Your current setup, assuming 15x8 Rallys is 4.5" Backspacing. Your tires are 28" tall overall.

These are 20x8.5 with 5.25" Backspacing. The tires are 29.75" tall overall.

If I am thinking correctly, they'd sit .25 more to the inside (tucked under the truck) 15x8 vs 20x8.5 = .50 wider, but you lose .75 to the backspacing. So apples to apples, .25" to the inside. The truck would sit about an inch higher, but the wheel wells would be filled up about an inch more.

Hope this helps.. but I'm thinking it wouldn't be a whole lot different than you have now size wise. You need em man!
