I have a Dr. Gas 3 inch X pipe on my 74 Vette which I occasionally drag race (480 hp 406). People at the track say it has a really different (in a good way) sound, almost like the 180 degree headers on the old v-8 Indy style race cars. All I know is that it is loud with the Spin-Tech mufflers that I have. You definately won't have any exhaust back-pressure on your 383!
Edit Just looked at your sig. and videos. That is one quick truck! That X pipe should help get rid of the laughing gas! Last edited by skid; 12-31-2003 at 02:13 PM. |

skid, I have a 2 1/2" X-Pipe on the truck now, I like the way it sounds. I'm hoping the 3" X-Pipe will make it a little faster. Do you have any pictures of your Vette? What does it run at the track?

Sorry, no digital camera yet. I run 12.3x's at 114 mph in Calgary (altitude 3500 ft) in our typical 6500 ft air density with radial tires (2.00+ 60 foot times ![]() |
