Just FYI, the doors open and close ok, the lines are a little off at the top on the drivers door, but looks ok. But Orrie, as for what's wrong with the cab in general, probably much more than I care to find out~ I'd just like to enjoy it for a few years; ) Gall bladder surgery friday, so I'll be out for a while. I'll work on my blog during that time if I'm able. Then when I'm back at it again, the engine will be going in! omg! hysterical here!

@Denee.... Ye-Haw. Glad you were able to find someone that could overcome the issue with the window opening. I would expect the method they used to put it will not give you any problems, as long as you keep it under 100 as noted by Ogre. Just got back from Detroit. Glad to see your windshield in!

Re: Windshield install help!
Gall Bladder surgery, both daughter (6 years ago) and wife (4 months ago) both had it. Everyone reacts differently. What they did not tell my wife was 1)you retain a lot of air that takes time (3-4 weeks) to be absorbed into the blood stream so expect to be bloated for a while; 2) in some people (not my wife) the air migrates up under the ribs to the shoulders and is painful; 3) down and out for about 3-4 days then just healing. Wife hates meds so she was off the painkillers in 3 days, OTC after that; 4) small holes but the stitches inside will pinch and pull as things heal; 5) diet is just a try it and see experience, if your body likes it everything is ok, if not you will know it. They probably already told you the stuff to avoid. We were already pretty close to vegan diet with a little meat because of my problems so missing the fatty foods was not a big deal. Eating smaller quantities more times per day helps too.
Good luck.

Re: Windshield install help!
Thanks Orrie~ I am leary, but know this probably needs to be done. I have what's called mobile gallstones, and a bunch of em at that! So it would be Just a matter of time before one of the stones may block the duct~ that would mean cutting me open vs endoscopic. I do have some unusual pains, nothing severe, Well, I'm ready, not!
I'll post afterwards when I'm able. Thanks Orrie! dne' Quote:

Re: Windshield install help!
Wifes came out of no where, just ended up one night in the fetal position with extreme pain and what I thought might be heart attack symptoms when she passed a stone. 5 hours in the er confirmed what was going on. Since we were already doing all the diet and lifestyle stuff she elected to get it done. Our daughter waited and had a really hard time. Now that we have figured out the dietary stuff we do not even think about it. You will do fine, a low percentage of people have ongoing problems, but they usually have other health and lifestyle issues, that from your pictures you do not appear to have.

Re: Windshield install help!
Well, I cancelled the surgery. I'm not having any difficulty right now or really never have since the gallstones were discovered in 06. I eat very well, about like you, lesser amount of meat, more veggies. More natural grass fed stuff, very expensive. I'm seeing a naturalist tomorrow suggested by the man I buy my natural goats milk(unpasturized), very good! I'll give it good shot naturally before giving in to surgery. My husband ,"whatever you want to do!" I'll post as I go along.

Hey, it's in there.
As long as it looks ok (does) and doesn't leak (?) who cares about "unconventional"? |

God forbid if the windshield were to crack! Gives me kind of an ill feeling thinking about that notion. Anyway, it was a lengthy process and they had to come over the following day to wrap it up, when I asked the cost, he said 250, but I felt guilty cause that didn't seem to be enough, so I gave him 350 and his helpers a nice tip. The man in the middle is the owner.. Thanks y'all ! Dne' http://www.classiccarsandtools.com/2...native-method/ Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Windshield install help!
I had to get my windshield re-installed,, (it was never really all the way in) the top drivers side was almost in..almost!! took it to a glass place with a new rubber,,,well they cracked the windshield trying to reinstall it,, new windshield came in the following monday
they tried all day to make it fit..nadda.. next day they end up cutting about 1/4 from where the tint started all across the top..then it fit!!they seem to think that my truck had it's top replaced,, I told them it would be a bear,, they didn't believe me.. charged me 213.00 to get this done.. I'm shocked it wasn't a lot more!! |
