Engine Swap Questions
Hello Everyone, just wondering if I could ask a couple questions.
I have a 1970 Chevrolet C10. 267 V8 with 3 on the tree, 2 piece drive shaft, and 3.73 open rear end. So I am looking at swapping in a 350(or 383) or a 454. Now with the 350 I should be able to swap it right in place with the 267 correct? Now what would have to be done to put in the 454? With that being said I am sure that the three speed won't handle that power, so am thinking either a th350 or muncie m20/m21 behind the 350. Will I have to swap out the drive shaft? What is a good transmission to put behind a 454? Thanks in advance for all the responses, just trying to decide in the direction I want it to go. |

Re: Engine Swap Questions
Small Block will bolt right in... as long as its a stock 350, the trans should be fine.

Re: Engine Swap Questions
May require modification of current driveshaft. Depending on where you mount the engine and trans.
Any good driveline shop should be able to do anything you need. Shorten and ballance for a 2 piece shaft should be about $100 depending on what shape your shaft is in now.
