Yea, the one that's spot welded , it broke lose so everytime I try to tighten the bolt, it just spins inside.

Re: How do I fix this?!!!!

It should be a 3/8" bolt. (9/16 head) if it just pulled out... Maybe a smaller size was stuck in?

Looks like the inner one. May be able to reach it up in behind glove box.

Re: How do I fix this?!!!!

That sucks. Shy of drilling a small hole right beside the bolt..through the whole works. Stick a pin through it to keep it from spinning maybe. Tough one

Re: How do I fix this?!!!!

What I do is to drill a whole through the skin into the bolt behind the panel. Then plug weld the bolt to the cowl panel. WES

Yep... I agree with you there. Wasn't sure if he planned on pulling the fender, or just tryin to get it tight again

Re: How do I fix this?!!!!

I would like to be able to take it off again so I can open up and close the gaps on the doors and also once the truck gets painted. .
So I drill a hole from the inside of the cab and weld the lose part back to where it was ?

Re: How do I fix this?!!!!

Did you try an impact wrench to tighten it?

Re: How do I fix this?!!!!

You mean for the impact wrench to give it quick spin so it can tighten up?
I'll try it, is the only way to fix it going to be to cut from inside the cab and spot weld it back so I won't have this problem everytime I take the fenders off?

Re: How do I fix this?!!!!

Long shot......see if you can get a nut insert the same size as the bolt and install the nut from the outside with the nut insert tool. Nut inserts are used to install side view mirrors. If you can't get one big enough, use the biggest one available and use a bolt with a large washer
Good luck!

Re: How do I fix this?!!!!

cut the bolt head off and remove the fender. grab the bolt with vise grips so it does not fall into the pillar (if possible) drill two small holes then pull the bolt so the nut plate is flush and plug weld it back to the pillar. remove bolt, if needed weld a nut onto the cut bolt to use a ratchet. Run a thread repair tap into the nut plate. reinstall fender.

Look at this thread, should give you an idea of what is behind the pillar.

x3.

Came here to say this. Shouldn't take much to hold it in place and keep it from spinning while you torque it up.

Am I missing something, has the interior nut weld broken and the nut has fallen so the bolt threads into nothing or does it still thread into the nut but won't tighten?

Re: How do I fix this?!!!!

The thread is still on the bolt, but the bolt won't tighten up because the thread is loose inside the cab.
