Stupid question.

If you have 6 lug and want 5 lug do you just have to buy 5 lug drums or roters and be able to use the same spindles? What about the 12 bolt, just swap out the axle shafts or find a 5 lug rear and be done with it? Thanks!

Re: Stupid question.

Oh boy,I get to be first with my stupid answer . Don't know of any 5-lug drums you can swap on front. You are on track with the rear.Another option is drill for 5-lug. I've never seen anyone do it on the front but don't see why it is any different than the rear. Usually the reason for going from 6-5 lug is to have disc brakes, which are 5-lug from factory. If this makes any sense I apologize. My intent was for it to be stupid but I think I messed up

Re: Stupid question.

I'm new to the C10, i just wanna know how to go about converting to 5 lug. So there was no 5 lug front drum brakes? I thought the C10 came in both 5 lug and 6 lug.. looking for a cheap and cost effective way to swap to 5 lug.

Yes the plan will to eventually have disks, don't plan on lowering or drop spindles.

Re: Stupid question.

the back you would have to change hole axle or just the axle shaft not just the drum

Re: Stupid question.

Another option would be a Craigslist find complete disc front cradle and rear 5 lug. Then go through it all ball joints, brakes, tie rods. Otherwise ECE complete front disc conversion kits and 5 lug axle swap/drill. Many posts and information on that on this site.
