I am sure that was a good chunk of money in 72-73...

That's where it all began for me in '73 when I bought my first '72 at Sport Chevrolet. Like so many, the previous owner had rushed in to trade his "old style" barely used truck for one with the fresh new look. I kid you not when I say that bed didn't have a single scratch in it! $2,800 on the road

Those wheel locks worked as well,if not better, than the locks used today. If you tried to remove w/o unlocking it just spun free and you'd ruin the wheel any way you tried to remove them.

The '73 "cabs" are actually a major aerodynamic improvement over previous designs. They actually were a major change and step into the future (same design, basically, into as far s the '90s). It's all about the windshield and A-pillars. The hood came to the windshield and kicked up,wipers tucked under, windshield laid back and bowed from end to end,no drip rail, and more rounded at the A-pillars blending into the sides.

I tended to buy from Desert Dynamics over Hickey. I tried Googling them up before and I got all these results for current desert racing enterprise. Not sure if they are the same or it's a re-use of the name.
I knew you would like this stuff tim. Hard to believe these were all throw away items, and now we have to pay good money for them!

That's some cool stuff! A Hickey catalog like that just sold for 54 bucks on EBAY all by itself.

Re: Found some good GM lit. (hickey, OK)

So your the one who nabbed it! I didn't even notice the GM lit that went with it till I just went back and looked at the auction. You only got it cause I already had it, that wasn't a bad deal at all, like you said most of this stuff got thrown away years ago. I have one Hickey catalog that still has the 4 send in cards for free catalogs along with the pull out 11x17 poster of a cut-away blazer showing all their products and added page of the GM recall and explanation for the front drivers side spring hanger plate and backstop.
