How to replace a bad fuel (gas) gauge 69 C10
Good afternoon everyone, I need help.
I have a 69 c10 and my gas gauge stopped working. Does anyone have any instructions on how to replace it with a new one? I have little to no experience on replacing gauges...so break out the big crayons! Thanks from Tucson |

How does the gauge not work? Does it move at all or is it all the way full or all the way empty?
The first thing you need to do is determine if it's the gauge on the dash or the sending unit in the tank. Check the wire going to the tank sending unit to make sure there's no breaks. If it looks good remove the wire at the tank. The gauge should move to full then touch it to the metal part of the tank (ground). Needle should be reading empty. Here's a site to read through: https://www.fillingstation.com/artic...ugetesting.htm If non of the above and you're sure it's the gauge itself, you'll have to remove the gauge panel asm complete. Maybe someone has the complete instructions on how to do it.
