are these split rims??

I have been looking for a set of rims to replace the dodge ones on my truck.. I found a another 68 2500 that is being parted out but I am not sure if the rims on this truck are splits and the current owner cannot tell as well ... so here is a terrible pic of the rims the owner texted me, can anyone here tell me of these are splits by this photo??

Re: are these split rims??

No they are not split rims. Split rims have a removable ring on the outside of the rim.

Actually, I think that MAY be a split rim.

Actually that is a 2 piece rim. It doesn't have the split retainer but it does come apart. After you break down the bead there is a slot in the retainer that you place a tool into. Then the retainer is removed. The tire then comes off.

that's what I've always called split rims, but I believe chiefcfd is right.
Next time, the battle shall be mine!

Those are the optional heavy duty 2 piece lock ring wheels used in '65 '66 '67 and '68.
