This reminds me of something...A friend of mine once did something pretty crazy...swapped a VR6 engine into a 1990 VW Golf. Put an 8 valve engine in the trunk and drove from NJ to Colorado to deliver the car to its new owner. He then took the 8 valve motor and installed it into a '78 Rabbit and drove it back to NJ.

Do you think restoring these trucks is cost effective vs time? That guys VW habit ranks right up there with these old trucks.

I was certainly not knocking his vdubs. (Audi guy myself. virtually same thing) just seemed like a lot of motor swaps. but awfully creative. and no. these trucks are DEFINATELY not cost effective when u look at how much we tinker.
