One ton disc brakes
Hey yall,
I'm from the 67-72 side of the forum but I need some help from the 73 up guys. I just got a 80ish model disc brake front end from a single wheel one ton to put under my 1970 dually. My question is, will 73-87 dually front hubs/rotors fit on the single wheel spindles or will I need to change the spindles out also? I want to run my dually offset front wheels so they'll match the rear. Thanks

Re: One ton disc brakes
Reading back through that, it was kinda confusing, lol. Basically, what I'm asking is... How do I put dually style wheels on a 73 and up 1ton single wheel style front end?

Re: One ton disc brakes
You need the dually hubs and everything else will fit, if I remember correctly. Its a dana 60 correct? The pass side inner u-bolt will be 2 bolts instead of a u-bolt.
The dually hubs are very easy to come by. The singles that you have are VERY HARD AND EXPENSIVE to get.

Re: One ton disc brakes
It's a 2wd front end. I guess I should be calling them rotors rather than hubs.

Re: One ton disc brakes
When I converted my 78 3/4 to a dually I had to change spindle also, the 3/4 spindles won't work with the dually hubs/rotors.

Re: One ton disc brakes
This one is already a 1 ton but its a single wheel. I wonder if the 1 ton single and dual use the same spindles.

Re: One ton disc brakes
I found the answer finally. For anyone else with this question, it seems that the same spindles were used on DRW and SRW trucks so the rotors are interchangeable without changing the spindles.
Thanks!

Re: One ton disc brakes
Good luck. I know they wouldn't interchange on mine. 1 ton single wheel could be different, not sure on it.
