Instrument Cluster Rebuild
I recently bought a tach cluster out of a donor GMC to use as a base for my sons truck. I ordered a new bezel and lens from LMC. The bezel has two standoffs (one on each side of the tach) that were not on the original bezel.
They are quite sizeable so I'm wondering if I drill the lens to allow them through or cut them off to allow the lens to seat. Has anyone else seen this? |

Re: Instrument Cluster Rebuild
Those are most likely the break away tabs and someone on the production line forgot to cut them off. I'll take a photo of my bezel tomorrow, I've got it out of the truck right now.

Re: Instrument Cluster Rebuild
That would be much appreciated. These things are HUGE. I'm leaning towards cutting them off.

Re: Instrument Cluster Rebuild
If you call LMC they will send you another as a replacement. I know a lot of people complain about LMC but they've always done right by me with issues like this.

Re: Instrument Cluster Rebuild
I would not bother replacing the whole thing, those are left over products from the production line. Snap or cut them off, on both replacement bezels Ive had those have been cut off/snapped flush.

Re: Instrument Cluster Rebuild
Cut them off and pop in the lens. Do not drill the lens.

Re: Instrument Cluster Rebuild
OK, message received, I won't be drilling the lens.
I contacted LMC to let them know (sent them the pics). Thanks for the input. |
