Re: Finally starting my 5.3 swap!!

More progress today...the motor IS IN!!! cleaned up the frame a lil bit with a wire brush n scraper, mounted the clam shell brackets on the engine n bolted the tranny on and she went in. Next is the trans crossmember, fuel system and I gotta get a cab mount kit. I've been looking under my cab and its pretty solid still but need rockers, cab corners and floor pan...also need new fenders as the passenger side fender bent when we lifted the cab...no biggie though.

Also the old 350 now resides in another truck and runs like a champ. My buddy found an old sticker on the motor when he pulled it and found that it was a remanufactured unit and was put into a 72 3/4 ton long time ago and somehow ended up in my truck...the whole time I thought the motor was original. oh well never planned on keepin the truck original anyway so who cares
