those fender shelves
Those shelves under the hood above the wheels are sure handy for keeping your tools and stuff. Last weekend I forgot my reading glasses in there and shut the hood. All week I squinted at the paper, the computer, and my business paperwork wondering what the heck happened to my glasses. Tonight I lifted my hood to look at somethjng else and.....mystery solved. I drove around a lot too this week, but they are in good shape. You guys ever leave something in a weird place on your truck, give it up for lost and then find it later? My brother once found a swivel head ratchet under his intake, wasn't his but who knows how long it was in there. We thought it was the motor making that rattle and finally opened it up just to see.

Re: those fender shelves
Well I did the same thing..but never recovered my tools. I lost a 9/16 and 1/2 inch wrenches on the road as well as a 3/4 inch socket...I was driving at about 50 and clang clang I look in the rear view mirror and I see stuff flying and gone. So I lost those..drove back and couldn't find them...was pressed for time. And who knows how many bolts have fallen off the truck while I've driven it.

Re: those fender shelves
I've had my cat travel with me a couple times- tucked up between the hood and inner fender. Once he went to work with me, 45 miles away on back roads. Once he went to a friend's house with me, 15 miles away at about 80 on the freeway. He was a little shaky after that one.

Re: those fender shelves
I did that with a wrench about 3 years ago. Went around the corner, and heard it hit the ground. Turned around and some guy and his wife stopped and picked it up and took off. I chased him down, and told him I'd like my wrench back and he played the stupid thing..."what wrench"?, then he says, this was in my truck. I said, "You wanna try again?" as I just saw him pick it up. Some people are just crooks.

Re: those fender shelves
I had a couple tools 9 my bumper of my dad's 95 Silverado and drove about 14 miles to tractor supply and came out of the store and someone else pointed it out to me and my pa. Did 55 all the way from the house to the store. Surprise they didn't fall on a turn or big bump ya know?
