Re: help decode my engine
Since it has a VIN stamp I'd say its a mid 70s car or truck engine.
But I'd need to fully decode that for sure. Pretty sure 010 blocks didn't come out until 69 off the top of my head. Bruceman1968 where are you? :-) Remember bolt on parts in no way assure what anything "was" or "is".

Re: help decode my engine
Brett, Well done! Just remember I am on a bad dialup connection. NastyZ28 has a lot of good information, a little bad and some incomplete. But it is much better than nothing.

Re: help decode my engine
Guess I'm a little late to the party, and there's not anything worthwhile to add. The Vin code for your engine was H, and it was not cal smog equipped. See, not worthwhile.
Nice job Tim and Brett.

Re: help decode my engine
That is great guys little confusion, maybe this isn't an original engine and if its a 350 not sure why someone would put the old 327 intake with the oil snout i now it fits n all, but would think they would of had a reg intake for a 350

Re: help decode my engine
It's out of a 1972 Camaro or Chevelle, It's not original to the C-50.

Re: help decode my engine
Thanks bruceman1968 and SS Tim. Well with a bad dialup connection you were smokin fast SS Tim!
oldno7 I think Tim nailed it in his earlier comment "Remember bolt on parts in no way assure what anything "was" or "is"." I don't think I would have ran the old style intake either but the PO must have for some reason (carb choice, originality, swap over costs?). Enjoy your 350, could be a 4 bolt main and every 010 block I ever had was a great runner.
