This is awesome! I knew one of these days, someone here on the board would somehow get re connected with a truck in their past like this.

I am so wanting to see and read more about this history of this truck!

Re: Original owner photos of my truck in 1970

There is a family reunion coming up in July and my Great Grandpas son will be there. he is the mechanic that did all the servicing of the truck and helped Grandpa Fred sell it when the time came, so I will try to get as much info on it as I can. I have the same pics that are posted on the board, with a couple of exceptions, and I will try to get them scanned and posted as soon as I can.

Re: Original owner photos of my truck in 1970

My grandpa Bill bought this truck after his 1972 gmc Sierra was totaled a few years ago. He was getting older and wanted a smaller truck. He sold her to me, I loved the truck but really wanted to build swb . I didnt have the heart to sacrifice such a nice truck for my build. I wanted some one to maintain or restore her to its former glory. Dave and this story are exceeding what I could have ever hoped for . Thank you Dave for such a great resto for a great truck. Keep the pics and story coming.

Wow. Never saw another Sierra Grande "Longhorn" besides mine. Too cool. Thanks for sharing story, pics, etc.
