SWB short bed swap 67 to 70 CST

I recently bought a doner 67 C10 for my main project: 70 CST 10. Both SWB.

The 67 bed is 95% straight no rust. The bed on the 70 is ugly! I want to swap them. I'm fairly certain it is straight forward bolt up, no?

Also, I want to maintain the marker lights and they were NOT stock in 1967. What's the best way to add rear markers? Cut out from existing bed or cut in new ones?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Yes it is a direct bolt on swap easy project as there will be on the truck. Now putting the side markers in is gonna be a little more difficult, I would find some wiped out bedsides and cut out the marker areas to weld back into the bedsides of your truck. Jim

"Thanks for any suggestions"

67 beds were a one year only! Strongly consider trading for a later 68 up bed to someone who needs or wants a markerless bed. Might be a way to get a wood floor too if you want to go that way and don't have one in the 67.

But as the beds are a direct bolt swap you could run it until you find a marker bed with no problem.

Dude. If I had a 68-72 shortbox... I would pay you cash difference to trade you for a 67 shortbox and I would deliver it to you.

I would certainly be open to that. Do you have one to trade..? Mine is exceptionally straight for a 47 yr old bed that has been left alone.

I am kinda new to this forum, but I will figure out how to upload pics to show you.

Thanks!

Dude. If... If I had a 68-72 shortbox...
Sorry, I sold my last good short box last summer, so I could help pay to live in my motorhome in Las Vegas through the winter.
All I have now is step-sides

Cool, got it.

Does short widebox mean stepside? Just curious.

Thanks!

Re: SWB short bed swap 67 to 70 CST

no, Short Wide is typically = Fleetside, not a stepside

Depending on where you are in the country:
SWB - may mean Short Wheel Base or Short Wide Box
