is it possible that maybe the 3 inch drop spindles are on the wrong side

You can't mix up the spindles. Would you describe it as binding or just doesn't return to center without some help?

I came to the conclusion the left spindle is defective. Summit racing is sending me a new set and warrantying them. Ill let everyone know if it was the problem. Thanks for everyone's help.

Just a thought, are you sure the ball joints are correct? I've purchased ball joints before, same part number, different ball joint when I opened the packaging.
