Help with rebuilding engine lift ram.
Ive never tried rebuilding a hydraulic ram, so this is my first and please excuse my lack of knowledge and terminology. I only use this about once a year, so buying a new lift is not worth it really to me, and the price of just a ram, is almost the cost of a new lift. Anyway, Brand is Nesco
First is where is a good place to order seals? I've not had good luck searching around. I have taken the lower part apart, where I call the plunger. What is the name of the "seal" on the end of it? Next, inside the base the bottom of it rotates around, and I can get fluid around the edges. Should it do either of this? there is a screw that I cant get out that is around this area that I cant get out. I also can not get the top nut off the ram either, but I wasn't having problems in this area.

Re: Help with rebuilding engine lift ram.
This "seal" is what I am questioning the technical name of to search on. It goes on the plunger which is about .465 dia.

Re: Help with rebuilding engine lift ram.
This is in the hole where the plunger goes. It free spins around, and fluid can get by the outer edges of it. Can not make it come out, and wonder if above screw holds it in?
