Re: wiper motor help
If they want to move but dont I would suggest looking at the wiper transmission under the cowl to make sure it is not in a bind. Especially if it is doing the same thing with both motors. Just a thought.

Re: wiper motor help
You might also unhook the wiper transmission for the wiper motor and see if you can move it by hand.

Re: wiper motor help
I had the same problem with a new wiper motor. It was just not strong enough to push the wipers, I took it back and exchanged it for another one, and it has been working fine ever since.

Re: wiper motor help
I had an intermittent windshield wiper motor on my 75 and it turned out to be corrosion on the wiper fuse under the dash. I cleaned off the corrosion and lubed it with a little wd40 and no problems since.

Re: wiper motor help
Two ideas:
1) Buy only AC Delco motor from online OEM retailers - should not be that expensive. 2) Before you buy a new motor - check the connector at the motor. Wiggle it while assistant operates the wiper switch. I have a bad connector and was able to patch it back up with electrical tape, but I will get a new connector when my patch finally fails. Those connectors are somewhat fragile after 30+ years of use. If you have a bad connector you can get an OEM AC Delco connector from the same online OEM retailers. Check the online Delco pigtail catalog: www.oewarehouse.com www.oehq.com www.rockauto.com www.autopartstomorrow.com www.gmpartsdirect.com Some have free shipping and usually no sales tax (for now, anyway.) |

I got a new motor already, but I see what your talking about with those connectors, I think that may be one of the issues...I work at orileys and got it pretty cheap, I did keep the old one as a back up
