thanks, Already checked out the archives.
Was looking for opinions on whats being used out there. The nv4500 looks a little tall to fit. I do not have a high hump floor pan |

The NV4500 is a heavy duty truck trans. If your looking for something for your 1/2 ton step side might look up the T5 or T56 6-speed.

For a half ton, I'd do an NV3500 instead. Smaller, lighter, and overdrive. Able to hold up to modest powerplants.

If you're considering the expense of installing a 5 or 6 speed, I would think buying a high hump floor would be the least of the expenses involved.
