Re: Targa Truck '71 GMC build - The first truck in Targa Newfoundland

Okay, here is my bracket in all of it's surface rusted glory. Your question totally reminded me that I need to take this off and finish it, as it actually works. I use a Lokar throttle cable. I had planned on using the stock one, but it kept hanging up due to the stock cable design. I highly recommend buying a aftermarket cable if you do this. Here is a close up of the bracket. I will be trimming off the holes for the springs as they are too close to my front spring mount to work. I have a discrete bracket mounted on a intake bolt that provides the right stretch. FYI - the throttle return springs are hidden behind the fuel rail. NOTE: this bracket has a lip the puts pressure on the back of the carb mounting tab so it does not move when you jump on the throttle. I like my parts simple and small. I had an Edelbrock bracket, but it was like the Eiffel tower coming off my intake. Worked fine, hated the look of it. When I take it off to finish/paint it. I'll post a photo of the underside.
